The Arena is made up of five main areas including luxurious swimming facilities, a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The new Manchester £15m Middleton Arena officially opened its doors to the public as scheduled on the 4th January 2009. The Arena is made up of five main areas including luxurious swimming facilities, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and an impressive 500-seat auditorium.

On his visit to the Arena BDP Architects Director, Peter Jenkins said “It was extremely encouraging to see the building in use for the first time. It’s a suitable tribute to all the people who have contributed to the development of the project over the last 10 years. We hope that the people of Middleton get many years of enjoyment out of the completed project”.

Over 800m2 of BOEN Arenaflex Maple was installed by their approved Sports Contractor Courtcraft Ltd over the BOEN Elevation floor levelling system which is approved to the new European Sports Standard EN14904: Type A4. Also over 100m2 of BOEN Arenaflex Oak was installed in the Lower Lounge.

Arenaflex Elevation System is a resilient hardwood floor laid onto a highly durable cradle system. It is suitable for installation with underfloor heating systems and insulation.Arenaflex is suitable for new constructions as well as renovation. In addition, construction time can be reduced as no levelling compound or similar is needed. Arenaflex is easy to handle and transport as it is delivered in practical pre-cut and fixed lengths.
