Nightingale Academy

The Academy replaced their old sprung vinyl sports floor with Elastflex from BOEN.

London Mayor Boris Johnson officially opened the capital’s first two Mayoral Academies in London.

The school took part in a new pilot project seeing pupils taking part in an American style summer school. They will have access to literacy and numeracy studies during the mornings and a mix of educational, recreational and community projects in the afternoon.

The Nightingale Academy replaced their old sprung vinyl sports floor with 930m2 of Elastflex Stadium Beech, which was line painted and finished with an extra coat of Bona Sportive Finish. The floor was purchased by Lambeth Dixon based in Sudbury, Suffolk and was installed in a joint venture between MJH Leisure and 4D Contract Flooring.

Key benefits:

  • Low building height
  • Good sound absorption
  • Ideal for very large venues
  • Finished floor height 38mm

Elastflex is an area-elastic floor for multipurpose usage. An elastic layer and a load distribution layer of plywood makes it ideal for very large installations of several thousand meters.

It ensures a low building height, and offers different thickness of surfaces to suit your needs. In addition, the floor system has good sound absorption. It’s also available for a variety of elastic layers in the Champion version.

Elastflex can be installed on an even and self-supporting sub-floor, or on top of an existing floor.
