"New term, new school, new beginnings", that was the theme of the day when Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond visited Fife’s newest primary school.

The £7m Carnegie Primary School, which has been built as part of Fife Council’s £126m Building Fife’s Future programme, is innovative in design and could well be Scotland’s greenest primary school. The First Minister was very impressed with the school saying “I’m delighted to be able to mark the start of the new academic year by meeting some of the pupils and teachers at Carnegie Primary School and I congratulate Fife Council, Mrs Marnoch and all those involved in delivering this wonderful facility”.

In June 2011, 438m2 of 21mm Arenaex Olympia Beech on 45mm Flexbat battens was installed within the main hall which will be used for assembly, dining, physical education and school performances.

Arenaflex Flexbat is an area-elastic engineered sports floor offering a combination of rigidity and comfort suitable for sports halls, gymnasiums and recreation halls.

The Arenaflex boards are installed on top of BOEN Flexbat Battens which incorporate rubber pads providing the deformation and shock absorption needed according to European Standard EN14904.

Produced to production CE standard EN14342 and suitable for installation over underfloor heating and available in Oak, Beech, Ash and Canadian Maple all pre-finished with sports lacquer.
